Photography

Dieter Knierim is Sydney based emerging photographer whose work has been exhibited in the Josephine Urlich & Win Schbert Photographic Award 2012, the directors cut of the 2012 Blake Prize for Religious Art and the 2011  student exhibition at  the Australian Centre of Photography. He has also been a finalist in the 2010 Moran Prize and a semi Finalist in the 2012,  2011 & 2009 Moran Prize.

His video work has been exhibited Perth Centre for Photography in 2010 and the Albury Art Gallery & Museum in 2011, and at the State Library of NSW in 2013, as part of the Yolngu on Balanda exhibition.

In 2012, Dieter and his brother Liam received a grant from Queensland Department of Communities to teach film making to young Aboriginal adults with mental illness as a result of drug and alcohol in Aurukun in Far North Queensland. The project has now received further funding to empower the community by establishing a media centre for the community during 2013.

 

Dieter is currently studying a Certificate lV in film at Metro Screen in Sydney and also is studying at Communications at UTS in Media Arts and Production.
