"Are the sterotypes and misconceptions of sporting ability across racial and cultural backgrounds still ever present? Should the achievements of a sportsperson with a disability be recognized outside the parameters of their disability?   Does a woman have to be masculinized to be acceptable as a sportswoman?  What about sport for fun and recreation, not competition?  Is there an age when people have to stop playing sport? Parents supporting their children's dreams but whose dream it is?  These women answer these questions and more

Denise's Story - 25/1/2011

I met Denise when I was three, she taught me, to see the same about people before you look at what's different. To relise what we have in common and try to understand and learn about what is different. To me Denise doesn't have a disability; peoples negative perception of her is what disables her. Her positive perception is what enables them. To me Denise is not disabled, to me the worse disability is ignorance.
